Overhead pole mounted primary metering unit
This type of metering box is an outdoor dry-type three-phase primary metering unit. The medium-voltage metering transformer is assembled by 3 single-phase combined transformers. Each single-phase combined transformer contains 1 set of CT coil and 1 set of VT coil, Cyclic epoxy resin (CEP) vacuum casting solid encapsulation, with excellent insulation performance and hydrophobicity, the surface is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, contamination, and UV. It is suitable for outdoor overhead line installation and connection to public power systems. The metering box has connected the secondary lead of the transformer to the junction box of the centralized terminal. The sealing design of the junction box has an output port to connect with the meter box, which is quick to install. It is suitable for the equipment in the urban and rural power distribution network with the maximal voltage not more than 17.5kV for electric energy metering, current and voltage measurement.

2.Function and application
Overhead pole mounted primary metering unit complies with the latest applicable industrial standards and local and or national electrical code (such as IEC, IEEE (ANSI), CAN, GOST, CEF). It is used for three-phase overhead power grid energy measurement management and distribution network automation management system, the primary side measurement is more accurate, and the power loss of the line can be effectively measured so as to reduce losses.
3.1The medium voltage transformer of the metering unit is composed of 3 single-phase combined transformers, which saves installation space and can be installed directly on the pole outdoors, which is convenient and quick;
3.2The junction box of the metering unit is installed with a test terminal block and the lead wire connected to the transformer, and the junction box door lock seal structure is with anti-electricity stealing design. The metering box can also be equipped with an electric meter box on the pole;
3.3The box is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel or equivalent performance low-carbon steel with protective coating. The sealing design is weatherproof, acid and alkali corrosion resistant, and UV resistant;
3.4The medium voltage transformer is insulated with epoxy resin solid encapsulation and has excellent dielectric and mechanical performance. It is oil-free, gas-free and maintenance-free, meeting the requirements of safe operation and environmental protection.
3.5The CT of the medium voltage combined transformer can be configured according to double transformation ratios, and the VT is equipped with anti-short circuit and overload protection devices as required to avoid burning and explosion caused by VT short circuit and overload.
3.6The primary connection adopts copper contact bar and terminal clamp and can be equipped with terminal connectors with corresponding area as per user’s requirement. Lightning arrester can be selected as required.
